Steve Goodson, designer, repairer, player, teacher is based in New Orleans.
At the age of 14 whilst playing in the school band, Steve developed a keen interest in the mechanics and sound production of saxophones.
Through the 1960’s and 70’s he spent most of his time on tour and in the studio with a number of superstars including Motown’s favourites.
Collecting vintage saxophones all his life, his collection is vast, including examples of every significant advance in saxophone technology ever produced.
By the late 1970’s his reputation grew as a repairer to the top saxophone players in the United States. His customers included Maceo Parker, David
Sanborn and the late Michael Brecker.
With a library boasting copies of thousands of patents on saxophone innovations and his collection of over a hundred vintage horns, Steve is pushing the boundaries of saxophone design and sound.
