JAY BECKENSTEIN

One of the two founding members of Spyro Gyra formed in the early 1970’s during his junior year at college. Jay Beckenstein started a weekly ‘jam session’ at a club in Buffalo which over that year grew into the band Spyro Gyra.

Well known for the successful track ‘Morning Dance’ in 1979, Spyro Gyra are still touring round the World.

DEREK NASH

Derek is a full-time member of the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra as well as fronting his own band, "Protect the Beat". He is also equally at home leading the award winning Jazz ensemble "Sax Appeal", formed in 1980 by Derek, which over the years has featured a myriad of saxophone styles from some of the best UK sax stylists and funky rhythm section.
